My Process As A Musician

Making music began as an intuitive process, during which I experimented with various chord progressions and vocal styles.

Despite having a close relationship with music throughout my entire life, my journey began at Live! Modern School of Music in 2017, where I joined an R&B/Jazz band. Through this outlet, I got to gig with musicians my age around Miami until 2019. At Live!, I grew to love jazz, and discovered my greatest musical aspirations through artists such as Hiatus Kaiyote and Snarky Puppy. I began writing music, myself, at 12 years old.

When I was 14, I enrolled at New World School of The Arts in the classical voice program. Around this time, I began to look at music from a technical point of view in a way I could not before. Understanding the vocal techniques of classical singing and taking music theory courses throughout high school have helped me appreciate the detailed process involved in making music. The core of our curriculum was performing within an Opera Choir, which is where I fell in love with vocal harmony and arranging.

Before this, all I had was a vision, but learning these fundamentals gave me a structure, which inspired me to take my passion for music to the next level.

When I turned 17, I began producing in a studio context alongside friends. I continued writing music, but fell in love with creating vocal arrangements and started experimenting with various recording techniques. In 2022, I was admitted into both Berklee College of Music and NYU Clive on full tuition scholarships.

I always had huge ambitions of pursuing music full-time, but this was the first time I felt supported to take a leap of faith towards my dreams.

After deciding to enroll at Berklee College of Music, I knew in my heart I had to Major in Music Production and Engineering. With MPE being Berklee’s most highly acclaimed major, the application and acceptance rate are steep, with students applying sometimes two or three times before being admitted into the program.

I studied principles of production and searched within myself for a “why” and prayed that my passion for the subject would be enough to be accepted. After months of preparation, I got in and have spent the past three years studying Audio Engineering, which has transformed the way I create, listen to, and interpret music.

With A Vision In Mind, It Was Time To Work.

After 10 years of devotion, I’ve committed myself to a new season of output.

While at Berklee, I’ve flown back and forth from Miami and New York for performance opportunities. Most notably, working with Afrobeat and Jazz jam bands in Miami and recording studios in New York City, I’ve learned how to give my all on stage.

In 2025, I was scouted by two casting directors on American Idol to audition for the show’s 24th season, which began premiering in January 2026. After many preliminary auditions, I made it onto the show and am excited to continue sharing my journey on a more public scale. In the meantime, I’ve been releasing music (IN MY HANDS) and allowing people into my world through content I create on social media. I’m currently preparing to release my new single “HeKnows”, complete my thesis, and graduate in May of 2026.
